The Denver Broncos staged a dramatic 30-26 comeback win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, fueled by a 30-point second-half surge. The Broncos, led by Bo Nix, overcame a 16-point halftime deficit to secure the victory at Empower Field at Mile High.
The Rams, who entered the game as 2.5-point favorites, dominated the first half. Matthew Stafford connected with Tyler Higbee for a touchdown, and the Rams added three field goals to take a 16-0 lead at the break. Los Angeles’ defense also shone, forcing three punts and benefiting from a missed Broncos field goal.
Denver’s fortunes changed in the third quarter. The Broncos found the end zone twice, converting both two-point attempts to tie the game at 16 heading into the final quarter. Despite an early interception by Nix, Broncos safety Talanoa Hufanga intercepted Stafford and returned it 66 yards for a touchdown, giving Denver its first lead with 4:49 remaining.
Stafford responded swiftly, leading a 1:11 drive that culminated in a 48-yard touchdown pass to Konata Mumpfield, reclaiming a three-point lead. With time ticking away, Nix engineered a decisive drive, capping it with a touchdown dive to put the Broncos ahead 30-26 with just 47 seconds left.

The Rams’ final push reached Denver’s 14-yard line, but Hufanga’s second interception of the game sealed the Broncos’ victory. Stafford, despite the loss, made NFL history by becoming the first player to throw for 20,000 yards with two different teams. However, he also set an unwanted record with his 33rd career pick-six.
The Rams, now 1-2, travel to face the Philadelphia Eagles next Sunday, while the 2-1 Broncos head to San Francisco to take on the 3-0 49ers.
